Who we are

HeavyBook (ABN 94 724 739 258) is an independent Australian machinery price guide, operated as a sole trader. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use heavybook.com.au, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Analytics. When you visit, we use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity. These collect standard usage data — your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you reached the site. Microsoft Clarity also records how you interact with pages (clicks, scrolls and mouse movement) to build anonymised session replays and heatmaps that help us improve the site. We use this data in aggregate.
  • Information you give us. If you submit a price, request pricing results or a price alert, use a checklist, or register equipment finance interest, we collect the contact, equipment and calculator details you provide. We use them to do what you asked, respond to your registration and improve our service. Where you have separately signed up for marketing, we may also send HeavyBook updates; every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Dealer-directory requests. If you claim, correct or ask us to remove a dealer profile, we collect your name, work email, role, optional phone number, requested changes and any inventory-feed interest you choose to register. We use these details to verify your relationship with the business, review the request and contact you about it. The request is not published.

Cookies

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set cookies to measure usage and record anonymised session activity. We set no advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. We use trusted providers to run the site and our mailing list: Google (analytics), Microsoft (Clarity session analytics), Vercel (hosting and content delivery), Supabase (database), and our email marketing provider. Each processes data on our behalf under its own privacy terms. Equipment finance registration details stay with HeavyBook unless we first ask for your consent to share them with a named finance provider. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Overseas disclosure

Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. By using the site you consent to this transfer.

How we protect it

Submissions and dealer-directory requests are stored with access controls that allow new entries but no public read access. Dealer requests are reviewed by an operator before any public profile changes. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, though no online service can be completely secure.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or complain about how we have handled it. You can also opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Email privacy@heavybook.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time.
