Nobody Pays to Change a Number

HeavyBook exists because machinery pricing in Australia runs on folklore — a mate's guess, a dealer's opening position, a forum thread from four years ago. We replace that with gathered, gated, sample-sized market data.

What We Are

An independent price guide for machinery: what models actually go for on the Australian market, and what it costs to hire the class instead. Every figure is computed from real observations and shows the evidence behind it — sample size and verified date, on every range, always.

What We're Not

  • Not a marketplace. We sell no machines, run no listings, and take no inventory.
  • Not pay-to-play. No dealer, hire company or auction house can pay to move a published figure — there is no product that does that.
  • Not a valuer. Ranges are market estimates, not valuations or financial advice.

How We Keep It Honest

The rules are structural, not aspirational: a page can only exist when its data clears a minimum-evidence gate, ranges are computed and never hand-entered, and the sample size is printed next to every number so you can judge it yourself. The full method is public — read the methodology.

Where the Money Comes From

If you use our equipment-finance comparison and proceed with a broker we refer you to, HeavyBook may receive a fee. That's the model. It's disclosed on every finance button, it never changes a published figure, and we never recommend a specific credit product.
