Buyer’s premium
Most houses add a buyer’s premium or transaction fee to every lot, sometimes with a minimum per lot. Rates differ by house and by sale, so read the terms and bid with the fee already counted.

Upcoming Machinery Auctions in Australia
Public machinery, truck and earthmoving sales from Australia’s main auction houses, with dates and locations checked against each house’s own sale page. Look up the machine’s HeavyBook price guide first, set your limit, then bid with the auction house.
Using Auctions Alongside HeavyBook
- Shortlist sales. Scan the list below for sales near you or with the equipment type you need, then open the sale on the auction house’s site to see the lots.
- Check the price guide. Find the model on HeavyBook and note what the guide shows (a range with its basis and sample size, a new price or a labelled estimate) and its date.
- Set a ceiling. Work back from what the machine is worth to you, leaving room for the buyer’s premium, GST, transport and any repairs, and stick to it on the day.
Upcoming Sales by State
Grouped by state and soonest first; a sale across two states appears under both. Dates are as published by each auction house in the sale’s local time; closed sales drop off when the list is next refreshed. List last checked .

Buying at Auction: Four Checks
Inspect first
Machines are usually sold as is, where is, without warranty. Use the inspection window or book a viewing, check hours, service records, leaks, wear and attachments, and bring a mechanic if you need one.
PPSR check
Search the Personal Property Securities Register before you pay to see whether finance or another security interest is registered, and ask the house what title assurances apply to the sale.
GST & total cost
Check whether bids are GST-inclusive or exclusive, and whether GST applies to the premium too. Add transport, registration and repairs to find the real price, not just the hammer price.
Search the register at ppsr.gov.au, and read our disclaimer on how to use HeavyBook figures.

Machinery Auction FAQ
Where do these auction dates come from?
Each sale is checked by hand against the auction house’s own public event page, and the date we last checked the list is shown on this page. Auction houses can add, move, extend or cancel sales at short notice, so always confirm the dates, location and terms on the auction house’s page before you plan around a sale.
Does HeavyBook sell machines or take bids?
No. HeavyBook is an independent price guide. We don’t list items, take bids or handle payments, and sales are chosen for relevance to machinery and truck buyers, not paid placement. Registration, bidding, payment and collection all happen directly with the auction house.
How do I use a HeavyBook price guide at an auction?
Before you bid, look up the model’s HeavyBook price guide to see the published range, whether it is based on asking or sold prices, its sample size and its verified date. Then set a maximum bid that leaves room for the buyer’s premium, GST, transport and any repairs. Auction results vary with condition, hours, attachments and location, so treat a guide as a reference point, not a valuation.
What costs are added on top of the hammer price?
Most auction houses charge a buyer’s premium or transaction fee on each lot, and GST can apply to the hammer price, the premium or both depending on the seller and the sale terms. Rates, minimum fees and whether prices are shown including or excluding GST differ between houses and sometimes between sales, so read the terms for each sale before you bid.
Should I do a PPSR check on an auction machine?
Yes. A search of the Personal Property Securities Register can show whether finance or another security interest is registered against a machine or its seller. Ask the auction house what title assurances apply to the sale, and search the register yourself before you pay.
Can I inspect a machine before bidding?
Most houses offer inspection days or viewing by appointment, and many sell items as is, where is, without warranty. Check the inspection window on the sale page, look at hours, service records, undercarriage or tyres, leaks and attachments, and bring a mechanic if you can’t judge condition yourself.
